Created by the Japanese designer, Sakura Adachi, Food à porter is a lunch box designed as a fashion accessory. The name expresses both the object’s function and its decisive aesthetic value: a wonderful object to showcase and carry like a sophisticated minaudière. Food à porter contains your lunchtime meal or a snack like you have prepared it at home, allowing you to then eat it wherever you want! In the office, at school, in a park, etc. Food à porter is part of Japanese culture: the bento box in which lunch is placed with care and in a visually attractive way and lacquered objects are evoked by the alternating shiny and opaque surfaces of the three containers which make it up. This lunch box consists of two containers made from thermoplastic resin equipped with two lids with silicone seals. Between the two containers, there is a removable refrigerating element which lets you maintain the temperature for approximately 4 hours. The upper container’s capacity is 200 ml and the capacity of the lower one is 500 ml.This large-capacity lunch box is compact and extremely versatile due to its two lids and the option of inserting the refrigerating element. It can be used to carry a variety of food: salad, yoghurts and cereals, pasta, soups, etc.The two containers are held together via a silicone strap which makes carrying it easier and turns the lunch box into an elegant minaudière. To reheat the food in the containers, only a microwave can be used. On the lids there is a small opening, sealed by a little silicone stopper, on which the cooking times to not exceed are indicated. Before inserting the container into the microwave, you need to open the stopper such that the steam can leave during reheating. The little stopper can also be opened to make removing the lid which hermetically seals the container easier.
