The Hyräily motif was designed by Finnish illustrator, Maija Louekari. This abstract pattern was first painted by hand with a thick brush. It features freehand stripes that follow the rhythm of the buzz (Hyräily means “buzz” in Finnish). According to the designer, hand-painting accentuates the carefree beauty of everyday life – “we don’t always need to have only straight lines and right angles.” Cheerful, chic and graphic, the tableware collection by Marimekko brings your interior to life!
