The Swiss studio, BIG-GAME, offers a versatile object designed to accompany an everyday activity; easting bread, by highlighting its ritual and convivial nature. This elegant and contemporary colourful steel bread bin is ideal for storing your bread and keeping your kitchen tidy. The side hole allows in the humidity necessary for optimal bread preservation (for perfect preservation it is advisable to put the bread in a tea towel or paper bag before putting it in the bread bin). The clever, natural-bamboo lid also serves as a chopping board to slice your bread. The ribs catch the crumbs. To slice the bread, you can leave the top on the bread bin or place it on the table. Little non-slip feet placed on the base of the top ensure its stability when it is removed from the bin and protect the worktop that it is placed on. Mattina can also be used to bring breakfast to the table. The upper part of the bread bin is equipped with two handles which make it easy to move. The designers from BIG-GAME studio explain: “Mattina is a practical bread bin with a bamboo, resistant chopping board which serves as a lid. Starting with advice from bakers who recommended rolling up the bread in a tea towel or paper and storing it in a box that is not completely hermetic, we designed this metal bread bin with holes to control the humidity and preserve the bread in an ideal way. Equipped with handles, the bread bin is also very pleasant to bring to the table and to share good bread, an essential food for every meal.”
