The Mattina collection created by the BIG-GAME studio in 2020 is a small galaxy of objects designed around sharing and cooking, and created to accompany breakfasts, coffee breaks and other little day-to-day rituals that we share together with family, friends and our loved ones. Designed for budding patisserie chefs who enjoy not only getting to work in the kitchen, but also presenting their creations in their best light, this cake stand created by the BIG-GAME studio is distinguished by a subtle silhouette which conceals, like other elements of the Mattina collection, particular attention paid to its functional dimensions. Ideal not only for presenting cakes and desserts, it’s also perfect for serving canapés, cheeses and fruits at the end of a meal. This table centrepiece is composed of a white porcelain tray on an opaque, enamelled porcelain base, paired with a transparent thermoplastic cover topped with a bamboo knob. The transparent dome means you can see the contents, whilst the worked edges of the tray mean the dome can easily be positioned in place. Whether it’s for a simple, family breakfast, a dinner with friends, or a birthday celebration, it’s always a good reason to create a stunning table setting, presenting your cakes, biscuits, fruit or cheeses with the Mattina cake stand. Each object has a touch of playful functionality: The ingenious portable bread bin, with a lid that doubles as a chopping board, the porcelain butter dish and its coloured metal cover, the kitchen roll holder with a wooden knob allowing for the kitchen roll to be held in place, and the cake stand with a transparent dome, enabling cakes and tarts to be kept fresh while being showcased.
