The Pyykki pattern is designed by Finnish illustrator and visual artist Jenni Tuominen. The Pyykki (laundry) print evokes memories of a summer day when freshly washed laundry flaps outside in the wind. Inspired by the familiar, random aesthetic of laundry day, Jenni Tuominen first drew the shapes of the pattern on a piece of paper, then cut them out, painted them, and put them together in a rhythmic pattern in which delicate brushstrokes are associated with the technique of cut paper.
